How long have your children been swimming?
Lucas has been swimming on AC Petaluma for 3 years.

What inspired you to join the booster board? 
To support Lucas in his swimming journey and show him the value of giving back to the community that’s helped him grow. It’s a chance to share my time and skills, be part of something bigger, connect with other families, and help AC Swim Club thrive.  

What's your favorite part of being involved with the team?
Watching swimmers grow through practice, goal-setting, persevering, and lifting one another up - and meeting some wonderful people along the way.  

How has swimming positively affected your family?
Swimming has been a steady positive in times of change, building strength, discipline and resilience in our son. We’ve shared many great moments with Lucas and fellow swim families, creating memories we’ll always value.

What advice would you give to a new swim family?
Know the commitment—practices, meets, and parent volunteering are all part of the experience. Connect with other families and ask questions - there's a lot of knowledge available there. Let coaches handle technique while you provide encouragement. Be patient with progress, focus on effort, and celebrate every victory. Get involved! It’s the best way to feel connected and help the team grow.
