What group is your swimmer in?
I have one swimmer in Gold 2.

How long have your children been swimming?
Ben started swimming basically since he was born. He’s been on the team since 2020.

What inspired you to join the booster board?
I’ve learned over the years that swim teams need parents to volunteer to thrive and
knowing that every minute we help by volunteering helps keeps the swimmers in the pool.

What’s your favorite part of being involved with the team?
One of the most rewarding parts of being involved with the swim team is watching the swimmers grow—not just in speed and skill, but in confidence and character. It’s inspiring to see their hard work pay off, and to be part of a community of dedicated parents who support one another. The discipline, teamwork, and resilience that swimming teaches are values that extend far beyond the pool, and I’m grateful to witness that journey up close.

How has swimming positively affected your family?
Swimming has brought our family closer together through shared goals, early mornings, and cheering from the sidelines. It has taught us the value of discipline, perseverance, and celebrating progress—both in and out of the pool.

What advice would you give to a new swim family?
Embracing swim team life means diving into a full experience—early practices, weekend meets, and plenty of parent participation. The best way to navigate it is by building relationships with other families and staying curious—there’s a wealth of wisdom in the community. Trust the coaches to guide the strokes and turns, while you cheer on the effort and growth. Progress takes time, so celebrate the small wins and keep showing up. The more you engage, the more rewarding it becomes—for your swimmer and for you.
